Two miles of walking and riding trails. Explore the cliffs, boulders and caves. All while enjoying the quiet and privacy of your 49 acres surrounded on 3 sides with 1000 acres of unbroken woods.
Relax on the deck and enclosed porch while enjoying the surrounding views and the pond next to the natural rock patio.
The house was constructed from a kit imported from Vancouver, Canada and is comprised of 4' panels made of high grade 2x6s and 1/2" plywood. The roof is 3/4" tongue and groove plywood (there is no OSB in this house).
The foundation consists of 8" x 16" footers with rebar on solid rock. It will never settle nor have water seepage because it is on the very top of a 400' hill. The basement is only 40" high for the visual and access considerations for the house.
The house is a chalet with 1400 sq. ft., 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and a 2 car attached garage. The heating system is hot water radiant heat in the floor fueled by propane. Water is supplied by a reliable well and the quality is excellent. The septic is a leach bed located 900' from the house.
The property is located on a lightly traveled, well maintained state highway (Rt. 965) with the house being situated 1000' from the highway with a long, winding driveway. For additional security the driveway has a remote controlled gate between two banks at the entrance and another one could be added midway on the driveway at the beginning of a hill with a dropoff making it impossible to get a vehicle around either gate.
A 14 KW automatic generator provides power during outages with a 500 gallon propane tank for heating and power. The heating system and domestic hot water are supplied by two tankless water heaters.
The property is ideal for a full time home, weekend retreat, hunting and fishing lodge, or an escape from climate change, food shortages, terrorism, blackouts, pandemics and crime.
All mineral rights are included.
One mile to stocked trout stream, Sandy Creek, three miles to fly fishing only trout stream, Little Sandy Creek, and one mile to State Game Lands #39, the largest in Pennsylvania.
